18" rl-p box bracing?

Recommended Posts

planning a sealed box for a 18" rl-p, and i want this thing to be solid.

first things first, im gonna resin it. should i do the entire inside, or just the edges? i was thinking mainly the edges to give it a nice tite seal. can i use resin instead of caulk? or should i caulk first, then resin?

2nd, instead of using a 2x baffle, i was thinking about bracing it. i saw this bracing thing from bcae:

and was going to stick 2 of those in the box. (dims are 42x12.5x18.75)

also maybe add some polyfill. the box + the bracing and displacement is going to be around 4.18 cubic ft w/o the fill

thanks in advance

I usually brace and double baffle. Not like it takes that much more space.

Bracing doesnt need to be elaborate, just something to tie all sides of the box together to help couple them together. Double baffle the driver baffle simply to help hold the weight of the 18" driver.

I vote double baffle and window bracing as it ties all the sides together. Box will be VERY solid when done.
