Dumb question, but how loud will it get

Recommended Posts

I am planning on possibly doing 2 18" BTL's in pretty much the optimum enclosure to be put in the back of a Tahoe. Ported to the back, subs upward running about 2500-3000 watts each for daily. I am newer to all of this and hate to ask this stupid question, will that get loud as hell??? I would like to compete and wondering if this would be good for daily and competition. Wish I could do 4 18's, but I doubt I can afford that much power, LOL!!! As I said, I am very new to all of this and learning, so any info would be great...

Thanks

140-150 first try maybe with that wattage.

with better tuning i would say mid 50's.

or are you looking for a pure musical setup?

if on music i would say 150 area give or take, with the right song...

Somewhere in the audible range of sound.

Anything beyond that is a haphazard guess...

Never done any spl measuring in Hell to use as a comparison. But I would say your plans sound pretty loud :)

I have gotten caught up looking at some of Meade's designs cause my old lady finally decided to let me get a Tahoe instead of another truck. I loved a couple of his ideas with the 2 18's, so I may go with it. Hoping mine sounds even remotely close to that one design of his. Shootin high with this one, lol You should check his site out, you may get some good ideas. And i am sure you know he is good, did you check out his escalade build so far?? GOD!

You should be pleased, just make sure you're electrical system can provide the ~6000 watts you mentioned.

Yeah. I would look at a 300 amp alt, big 3 upgrade, several runs of 0 gauge, and a couple extra batteries, but that is just me
