new box for my mag

Recommended Posts

so after reading some I need to build a slightly bigger box for my Mag 15. It's home now is a 2.03 cuft sealed box. From what I read, I need it to be about 2.4 cuft. Or should I go slightly bigger? what will I gain from the bigger box??? someone said it will be more efficient, what does that necassarily mean???

also, I am going to build it and integrate an amp rack of some sort, nothing too extravegant. anyone have any ideas??? something simple, it is for a 2002 Altima if that helps.

tirefryr.... there is a BLACK a404 on ebay right now. How's that a1200 doing you?

Thanks for the info, but I already have a 404 being held for me by a friend. He picked it up last week jsut for me and is holding it until I get the money. As for the 1200, it should arrive sometime this week and some testing will be done on the Magnum.

Now for your enclosure, well, I myself like smaller sealed enclosures. But that is just my preference. I saw in another thread where Nick said something about 3.5 cubes I believe.

As for your amprack, not sure...... How big are your amps and how much room do you have? How 'bout a pic of your trunk?? Hint Hint. :D

3.5 cubes sealed? wow.

right now I have 2 PPI PC2150s that are a little longer than an a600. and a PG power grid that is about 8 inches long. I will get a pic of my trunk up soon.

Yeah, the 3.5 was the smallest I would go if you are porting it. If you're still going to run sealed, adding the extra .5 cubes or so will get you more bottom end and an overall cleaner response. Or you could line the walls of your existing enclosure with fiberglas insulation and put about 1.5 lbs of polyfil in it to essentially give you the 2.4'ish that you're shooting for.

i would go for about 2.8 or so sealed, if its not big enough add polyfil and try that, and if it to big for you put it some blocks or somthing to take up some space. rmeber if you build big you can take away but its much harder to get it bigger.
