finally got magnums in today

Recommended Posts

came home today and found my pg tantrum 1200.1 all fixed and waiting at my door. this time i took my time hooking it up and making sure my posititives and negatives were right and once i did that my ears were treated to some of the best woofers i have heard. i could not believe how loud these are. i have the gain set at about 1/4 up and they are so loud. it feels like my jeep is reading to fall apart. the little overhead thing on my ceiling came falling down. only a true basshead can be proud of his car falling apart. thanks SI. :+1:

Awesome. I'm glad you got your amp fixed and have proceeded in making your car weep for mercy. :P I spent today deadening the trunk of my car and getting the cab prepped for deadening tomorrow. After that comes at least the front stage install. THEN I'll wait a bit before I can have Magnum bass. :)

That's a Chrysler product for ya!

But good to hear none-the-less.

pg tantrum 1200.1. how long should i let these break-in? i noticed that when i have them cranked up if i go to the back of the car i here a slight distortion type sound but my lows and bass are at -6 and gain is less than half but when i'm up-front i here no distortion at all and they sound great. what i'm wondering is after they break-in will the distortion go away? i really don't understand what the purpose of breaking in is. is it all right that they make this noise? i only here it when i open the tailgate and stick my inside the car but i turned down the volume because i'm afraid i'm ruining them.

i messed around some with the eq and it took care of the problem. the eq was set pretty bass heavy so i did some adjusting and just turned back the gain a tad and they sound great.
