Which way to fire subs.....

Recommended Posts

Here is a dumb question, I already have my subs firing towards the trunk lid in my car. My friend has 2 15' Memphis PR's in his S-10 firing down.... I was wondering if I had the room could I put my subs in my back seat firing towards the back glass or could I have them face the floorboard..... The trunk rattles wayyy to much and I was just curious. Wasn't sure if it would work or not.

I found that my subs sounded louder/better facing the lid of the trunk, I did face them into the cabin of the car though after deadening my trunk did NOT get rid of the trunk rattle.

Now I just say f**k it and face them towards the lid, I dont usually pump it loud until I hit the highway anyway, no one can hear my horrible trunk a rattling!

I know its a little off subject from subs but its close enough to not have to start a new thread. What about tweets...... I have 10 in my car all facing the occupants. Where could I mount more to better my soundstage? I see people who have there tweets on there dash firing up at the windshield. Is that method any good? Thanks again

LOL...sorry but the phrase "10 tweets" and "better soundstage" don't belong in the same sentence. I'd have to guess that removing about 8 of them would help.

Have you seriously deadend the trunk lid? Filled in all the cavaties with Great Stuff? You might not get it dead silent, but that would get rid of 90% of the vibrations. Also see if you can elongate the slots on the trunk latch, so it can be lowered, which will hold the trunk down much tighter.

how exactly would I enlongate the slots on the trunk latch? I just can't think of how I would do it.
