Congrats! What was your actual score?

it was only 142???? WTF????

I had to play some kinda gay cd they had.

The judge made me playing at 58Hz my box is tuned to 34hz in a SUV I think 45hz would have been better

a guy that own a big audio shop here with $10,000 setup in my class only beat me out by a couple db's

I know I should hit around 150~152, but the CD they made me play I didnt like it. My box is tuned at 34hz. I'm louder playing Young Geezy.

Plus they tested at the footrest.

my first comp, and I'll get better.

I'm riding to Ricky H's place soon to let him help me get ready for another comp soon

Come down anytime that I'm not at work and we can test it. My 3000D will be here soon so I've got to get to work myself. I have 5 12"SX's probably only gonna use 4 in my Saturn. You can go to a MECA show with me in E-town Aug. 19th. You will be loud at the headrest. I did a 148.6 with 3 15" SX last year with less power and only 2 cubes per.

they can't make you play 58 hrtz.are you sure they did'nt suggest it? because on the term-lab mic they can tell you what frequenzy to play for the loudest score. once you get some testing under your belt come back and tell us how you are doing.

I might build a box that is tuned higher just for comps. I know I'm louder than that, if my box is tuned to 34hz I dont know why the judge made me test at 59hz. I love the way it sounds daily on music and I want to get it metered again at the head rest, at about 45hz. and make a few adjusments.

My back seat is removable so i may take it out to move the box closer to the front.

but I still got 2nd in my class, and the guy that won deserved to he owns " Smart Shoppers" a big stereo shop here and he was a little louder than I was. He told me that that mic was tight, and they didnt do things professionally. some people got metered at the headreast, some people at the footrest.

Hell I have never played a test tone in my car before the show, so I got a lot to learn.

I NEED TO SEE YOU RICKY!!!!

I'LL CALL 2NITE

What class did they put you in?

I ran 1 SX15 w/ a jbl bp1200.1 in my ext cab silverado last year and was doing 148.6 on the TL.

Did you run a sweep? If so, the judge probably made you test at ~59hz because that is where you peaked on your sweep?

I know what is like to be at a non-professional show...alil shop in Mississippi had a show last year, they had a van w/ 6 Lighting Audio 15's sealed wall. They only did 149's...my DD9515 was did 147's w/ my old bp1200.1 at 1.4ohm...hahahaha

I ended up doing a fun-run in the port and did 62's.....they crowd laughed there @$$3$ off. (The didnt understand what port-wars was, all they saw was a big #)

What vehicle are you running?

THe 3 SX are in a 85 Ford Bronco. I got two RE SE's in my 2003 intrepid. My fiberglass shell on the bronco flexes a lot. It wasnt only me because other people in my class were crying that the mic was rigged, and they hit higher numbers on the TL. But we all used the same gay cd and the same mic and I got 2nd.

The main attraction was a import tuner power slide race, and the audio wasnt taken serously. a few adjustments and I'll get better

But I still got 2nd place on my first time out with my own install against some people that have been doing this a lot longer than me so I'm very proud that I even placed.

Most important I LOVE how my system sounds. Not all bass, but I've got 10 mids & highs speakers counting the component tweeters and it sounds crystal clear.

I would like one of the Sundown 100.4 so all my amps match.

We can talk about the 100.4 when we hook up to test Friday. If I have my 100.2 hooked up by then you can hear it along with a 3000D.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You know what I went to home depot and got all new bolts and weather stripping for the camper top on that bronco. The top comes off... so I re-enforced it and used rubberized weather seal all around, and MAAN THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE.

I was loosing a lot of air because I only had 4 screws holding the fiberglass top on. now I got like 20 3/8" bolts and rubber strip.

I also rode around with the top off yesterday and it sounded like crap thats why I got the idea to double the strength of connection from the fiberglass to the body.

same volume... same eq settings... the woofers got a lot louder and on some heavy bass songs i started to smell the woofers stinking so I backed off of it.

but this is at the same settings where I WAS listening normal everday. I think I solved my problem

PLUS I STILL GOT 2ND PLACE NEVER PLAYING A TEST TONE BEFOR THE SHOW ON THIS SETUP!!!

$25 @ home depot for screws and lock washers & rubber weather strip

the simple thing's in life are the best. A buddy of mine came by with his chevelle and the spot weld's were coming off of his trunk lid and cross member's so the bass sounded like ass. so i got a $5 can of foam and it was a completly different system after that.

I don't really like usac but when the mic is in the kick its usually louder than at the dash like in db drag.
