2 re se 12s vs single 12" magnumd2

You all helped me to design my box for the magnum to go in my reg cab s10. While im savin up money im still exploring my options and for abt the same price i was i could go these two directions.....

-2 re se 12s getting 600 watts a piece (dunno which amp yet) with 1.0 cubes a piece before displacement

OR

-a single 12" magnum d2 in a 2.65^3 box before displacements tuned to 28hz using two 4"x40.5" aero ports powered by a jl 500/1

now, I was just wondering you guys' overall opinion btwn the two

any and all comments/suggestions/help would be appreciated!

well i would think the RE's to have the edge in spl but i dont think they can take the mags in SQ. and the loew you tune the better the SQ well get.

SQ is not too important to me as long as they dont sound like complete crap and i know both setups would probably satisfy my SQ needs

also,how much of an spl edge do you think they would be?

yea but sometimes cone area can be overanalyzed, because if i got a sub and it only moves .5in of excursion compared to one with 3in of exursion. i would got wt the 3in..

the only thing i already have is the 500/1, im just lazy and didnt wanna get sumtin new til later lol

now, if the re setp was the same but i was pushin 1200 watts on the mag instead of 500, which would you guys prefer??

From the way it looked the SEs would be sealed and the SI ported?

At 500 watts the SI will fall behind the SEs

At 1200 watts the SEs will fall behind.

Thats how I would see it going down.

Porting a subwoofer correctly has the same effecct as adding another sub with equal power.

my two 10's were about the same loudness as my 12" d2 now. both setups sealed. I would garuentee 2 12" SE's would be louder. SQ cant compare to the D2 th B) ough. Although the SE's sounded very nice, just not D2 nice
