The point is that no matter how many variables you eliminate, there just isn't a best sub for anything. Hell there isn't even a best sub that I would rather piss on than listen to.

jimj is just trying to say that there is no universal sub woofer that will fit into all/every install....

even Fi knows this as they doesn't just make ONE model sub but an array of models along with options to help their product "fit" into your car audio system... no one sub/company has the market cornered.

ON the contrary I believe that the btl has too stiff of a suspension for street classes (at least A and B ) and benefits from gobs of power being thrown at it.

I'm not exactly sure where you're getting this from, I'm not trying to compare the BTL to the XXX at all...just saying they aren't going to be the end all for every installation

Not liking something and not having something work are different things...doesn't matter how much someone likes Fi, if the BTL isn't the right driver for a specific installation, that's that.

You mean a BTL isn't PERFECT for everyone and every install everywhere?

I'm just not sure I understand how, in a discussion of SPL, a BTL could be "not the right driver for a specific intallation".

If all your saying is "Some people have 150 watts for their SPL sub, so a BTL wouldn't be a good choice, a funky pup would." Then we're saying the same thing...but if you're saying "Some people just can't make BTL's loud" then I have to respectfully disagree.
