Need alittle help with dual 1 and dual 2 BTL12

Recommended Posts

I have a 12" BTL with all the bells and whistles, and I decided to get a dual 1 ohm and not a dual 2 ohm sub. My question is: can I wire the dual 1 to to go with an amp that does one ohm. Or am I left with getting an amp that does two ohms(if so what will be a good amp for the BTL at 2 ohms)

When wiring a Dual Voice coil sub, you can only have a final load of half the two, or twice the two. Meaning

dual 1= .5 final load or 2ohm. Yes, you are stuck with 2 ohm. Unless you find two amps you like and put one on each 1ohm coil.

Hifonics and kicker both have decent 2 ohm amps. Kicker 2500.

So could i put 2 Rockford Fosgate Power T1500-1bd on each coil, and if so how will I wire it?
