Going from sealed to ported on a mag 15"

As the topic says iv decided to build a ported box for my mag 15". The output on the sealed just was lacking / geting traped in the trunk. Iv seen people useing 3.5 tuned to 27 4 tuned to 34 etc and loving it. What exactly is the advantages to straying from the recomend build? And wwhat size would you recomend? If size is not an issue.

first shot around I'd definitely follow the recommendations, if you aren't in love describe what you don't like and tinker from there. I doubt that will happen though.

Stay with the SI specs at first. The differences would be more install dependent.

also what is the driver displacement for the 15

I think it is .19 but I am not positive.
