I don't know, judging by the prices on Ebay, they aren't that overpriced, IMO. W6v2's for $300ish seems reasonable, considering their performance.

They might have less value than other brands, but how are those amps working for ya?

i've been looking at the RE SE, but heard there more spl oriented, looked at the MAG but dont want to wait for the new one to come out, and I've heard the W6 is top of the line when it comes to sq anyways

There are about as many opinions of what sub sounds best as there are sub brands. Paired with an excellent front stage, most any sub can sound great.

If you are considering the SE, but want more SQ, look at the Fi SSD with copper coil option!!

Not to mention SQ is subjective.

all depends on..........well EVERYTHING from headunit (and how its set up), wiring (is it carying the signal clearly and is there any ground loop?), fron stage (crossedover properly?), sub itself (is it designed with this in mind?) and lastly enclosure (is it built right)

The subwoofer itself is the most minor part.

Unfair if you are comparing a used w6 to a new anything else. I would still call that overpriced albeit reasonable. For the same money there are a lot of other drivers that I'd rather have used.

As for the amps, working out great; however, at the price I paid I couldn't have done anything else to get that much power either not to mention possible resale. To me the price of products (and part of this can work in JL's favor) is not the price you paid, but the price you pay minus what you sell it for. That will define what is overpriced and isnt'. Conveniently since there are so many people with JL boners it is easy to sell the stuff used; however, it doesn't make the new selling price good.
