Can i run power cables through any of these??

Recommended Posts

I have a 2007 honda accord and i am planning on doing my first amp installation, and i'm wondering if any of these outlets will be able to get through the firewall. if so how would i get it through?? do i just take the plug off, or do i cut through it?

The third plug should work just fine........double check on the inside part of the firewall that it won't run into anything major and you should be fine. Personally i just punchthrough it with a small drill bit and push the wire through into the engine bay. Make a more water tight fit.

Hence the suggestion of using the 3rd one......

Second one is a panel clip only. Third looks to be the same too, but could be a hole plug. See if it is removeable, but like Jordan said, make sure there's nothing behind it getting in the way.

I know i had a similar looking one to the 3rd on in my 99 Explorer.

Had the hitch kit ran through it so i just shoved the 4 awg through there.

It was made ofrubber so it helped keep the elements out too.

I had to use the Dremel to get the 4/0 on the explorer.

My truck has a 5" plastic thingy on it. It looked as though someone drilled a hole through it for another wire (not there anymore), so I just used that. That was about the only easy thing in the install of this damn system.

I would also use the top one. My 96 Accord was set up that same way.
