1000D Question (for those with an owner's manual)

Recommended Posts

First off, this doesn't seem very mono block to me :P (tis a two channel amp), but anyway... Could someone explain to me how you would wire up a single SVC sub? The diagram on page 5 shows bringing a line to both power outputs on the speaker positive connections, and no line to the negatives at all. This doesn't make any sense to me. Do you link the two negatives together, and run one positive to the speaker's positive, and the other positive to the speaker's negative?

Why does it seem like a 2 channel amp? just because it has 2 sets of speaker outs, that is needed for strapping the amps.

It is indeed a mono amplifier, the two sets of terminals are for wiring flexibility. They are connected in parallel internally. There IS a line from the "-" terminal, look closely and you will see that there is a box around the "-" terminals with a line coming off the box, this means connect to one or both terminals. Same goes for the "+" in that you can connect to one or both.

are you sure u need to wire the two +'s ?

might wanna check that again.

It doesn't really matter if he uses both + and - or just one of each on an SVC sub. He really only needs to run a + from the sub to a + on the amp and a - from the sub to a - on the amp... and he could just leave the other two terminals open.
