If you go with the Q and give it 1000 watts I suggest you also let him know how much you paid for your Q after he hears it and be prepared for a new friend... you should out "wang" him for sure...

1000wrms vs 700? kinda unfair.

h2h, i'd still give the output edge to the L7 if it's in any kind of good ported enclosure. those things are flat out hard to beat. you have to remember, the L7 will have a cone advantage to help equal out the power advantage you have.

to be perfectly honest, there is absolutely no way to tell if you'll get him or vice versa. from my experience though, i'd have to put the money on the L7. if you get him, it'll be the install and power advantage that got him.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

The L7 does have the cone advantage, but if you get the Q do some research with the Fi guys and find out whats best. You could a little more and get the BL, I know they can get loud.

If you are after SPL, and it would seem that you are, you would be better served by a different sub than the Q. The BL as mentioned, would probably be a better choice. I'm sure that you'd get better feedback as far as which Fi sub would serve you best and how to best get what you want from that sub in the Fi forum.

Just make sure it's a good ported built box cause mono-a-mono the l7 is strong by itself.

I would say with same box allignment the L7 will put a good fight. The Q was not actually built for high SPL capabilities.

The install/environment is the most critical aspect in SPL. Regardless of the products used.

Im surprised that nobody has asked about the vehicles that these are going in. Because that also has a teeeny bit to do with it. :)
