Which speakers for me?

Recommended Posts

Actually 2 sets. Budget approx $400 for both sets.

They'll both be powered off a Sundown sax100.4...the front set getting full power. The rear set will be set low, so power handling isn't an issue there.

They don't need to match, but the front set needs to be loud. They need to be able to handle the sine sweeps of bass music. I burnt out a couple sets of tweets with bass music. Apparantly, I need some components that are tougher than infinity reference's.

What would you recommend? Should I get $100 rears and $300 fronts? or two sets of $200 for front and back?

Should I buy a low end set of Rainbows or CDT's...or a higherend set of Kickers or Alpines?

Why just not turn the front stage off with bass music? Are you truly missing anything? :)

I'd recommend a set of horns...and forget the rear fill.

I love horns, and am thinking about getting a pair later on this summer instead of buying a second pair of tweets.

I would just do fronts as well, look into morel, mb quart, focal, DD, dls, image dynamics, hertz etc..

If you have $400 spend it all on your fronts and kiss the rears goodbye. Bridge that amp and your set.

So it's a budget thing?

Along with the horns do I need mids?

The Image Dynamics horns are rated at 35w RMS...They must be LOUD!!! Something like 108db efficiency

What's the main difference between $250 horns and $800 horns? Loudness or accuracy?

Thanks for answering my questions.
