15" mag and a JL Audio 500/1

I haven't bought this sub yet but, i do plan on buying a 15" mag and plan on having a JL 500/1 feeding it. I really don't want to go over $1,000 and still have a bad ass system. I might even save up for the JL 1000/1 but its a bit more than i want to spend. I am shooting for SQ and still want low's. I'm guessing 3^3 seal box will have slightly better lows than 2.5^3? This install is going into a Crown Victoria 89'. So i got plenty of trunk space to deal with. Also curious how loud this speaker would get with just a JL 500/1 feeding it instead of having a JL 1000/1.

I had 600 on my Mag 12 before, and it sounded great, but it sounded a lot better with 1100 watts. It would be fine with 500, but in a sealed I would give it more to get it going. Have you looked at other amps besides JL? There are a lot out there that are just as good, for less money, like my Memphis MCD 1000.

I like the Memphis recommendation or another amp to get the extra power without changing the overall price.

Interesting choice the Memphis MCD 1000. what do you guys think between these 2 amps Memphis MCD 1000 or Ed NINe.1? which is better? Also where can i find good deals on amps. cus i was having a hard time find a good price on mcd 1000. Thanks!

The Mag will shine with even half the power of the 500/1.

I'd say Memphis, just to keep Ben Milne from getting another dime, but that's just IMHO

Check Ebay perhaps? I'm sure you can find a deal on a solid reliable kW for not much.

Memphis hands down. More efficient and more reliable than ED, Check the claasifieds and Ebay. I bought my MCD 1000 for around 250.00 barely used and my Mag shines. I am not about being heard outside the car, but I get a lot of looks, with only a Mag 12
