you should put the coil with some of the other brands you used to have in your dorm room....since we're comparing.

Yep. The red-colored (coated 20 gauge aluminum) windings are the coil itself and the black bobin (anodized aluminum) it is wound on is the voice coil former.

Moving assembly = very cool... I got to play with it over the weekend. Amazing how light weight it is -- Nick is a huge fan of a low Mms B)
