Will there be room?

Recommended Posts

So, after much nagging, my old lady talked me out of doing the pacman design with 4 15" BTL's in the bed of my truck cause it would take up every inch. So, will I be able to put 3 15's straight across the bed of my truck so that I have a little room to put stuff towards the end of the bed in my truck. Or will I have to go with two BTL's.

6'6" front to back

5'3" wide

4'1" wide between wheel wells

1'10" from one end to the wheel well

1'8.5" from other end to wheel well

These are some dimensions I got from one of those custom fit rubber mats for the bed of this truck. I think the bed is about 21" deep.

LOL, my old lady thanks you..........

if you used up every inch of the truck bed you be looking at a box that is somewhere around 50 cubic feet which is way to big for 4 15's. even if you went with a v shaped baffle or "pacman" box the longest it would probably have to go would be to the end of the wheel wells if that far depending on how big you make the box. The space from the back back of the cab to the front of the wheel wells gives you roughly 14 feet and even after wood thickness and sub and port displacement and take into acount that the v shape will probably take a few cubes of space away the box would probably have to go to about the middle of the wheel well so it would def be posible to do the 4 15's and still have a few feet for cargo.

Thanks...guess I got to stop listening to that stuipd installer, should have known. He was talkin crap and is an RE dealer. I will find a better shop that is custom based, not just out for themselves and screwing customers.

Either way... I think I read on the other post somewhere that you have 21" of height to work with. At that, about the only thin you could do would be to tun the port along the top or bottom of the box... about 3" tall the whole width. Itd give you a decent amount of port area.

Thanks,

Scott
