Building a ported Pacman Box

Recommended Posts

I am looking for some rough plans on how to make a ported pacman box for 4 15" subs. Anyone with any links or resources would be great.

Tom has a clamshell.

I don't think it's very loud though.

A friend of mine built a sealed "pacman" box. It was a very nice sounding box. Remember to make the subs far enough apart so if they have big magnets you can still install them. It was close on some subs that went into that box.

Just make a sealed box, and then figure out your port area and length from that. Then port it with 4 or 6 inch pvc.

The process is no different than any other ported box...

Nope. Just a different way of building a box. You might get a bit of a loading effect depending on the angle but it won't be anything like isobaric.

Its a technique used to build a wall where the drivers/port you use wouldn't fit on a flat wall. All you're doing is angling the baffle to create a larger surface area to place drivers/port on. Hopefully that makes sense :) .

You can do ported clamshells. I actually got one myself with some 18" BTLs. Its just another way to do a wall. Ive seen em behind the back seat or behind the front seat (like mine).
