Like the topic says. If I'm going for a good SQ out of a sub, does the sound quality suffer if I'm running them at a lower ohm load like 2, 1 or .5ohms (as opposed to 4ohms). I'm looking to start up my wife's car with a SQ system and want to match subs and amps for good sq. Thanks guys.

as long as you are talking clean power, the impedance doesn't matter *audibly*

Would it be safe to say that a Sundown amp running a 1ohm load is clean power?

clean power as in the gains aren't turned up too high, and the bass boost is completely turned off. Hell a Sundown Amp running at .35 ohms can produce clean power.

I was told to look for an amp with low thd %

but I may have been told wrong.

Any amp worth owning will be capable of operating in the range of inaudible distortion.
