Right now im rocking a 1x fi q 12" in a 2.5 @ 30hz box, it gets pretty loud, but i feel i have to strain a little to get it to my likings. I want to upgrade and have a few optinos that im asking you about

I plan on buying a second sae - 1000D and strapping them and producing 1800 - 1900 @ 2 ohms. So that what i have to work with. Here are my options that im intrested in. I have a LSQ oriented system as you can see in my sig

Option 1- buy another fi 12 q and sealing both of them each in a 1.3 sealed box or both of them in a 2.5 sealed box. I could build an amp rack

Option 2- buy another fi 12 q and porting them in a 5 @ 32 hz box. could not build an amp rack

Option 3- i could buy a loaded 15" fi bl and run it ported in a 4 @ 32 hz box - possibly make an amp rack

option 4- i could buy two 12"fi ssd's with copper coils in seal them in 1.2 cu ft. boxes or 2.5 cu ft.

option 5- i could buy two 12" fi ssd's with copper coils and port them in a 4.8 cu ft box @ 32 hz.

I think my fi q now could get another 200 - 300 watts and be optimal but my amps are rated accurately at around 1000 watts.

LMK,

Mike

Well its realy how much work and money you want to put into it. But personally I would have to go with option 5.

Knowing how you can't get anything reselling your used audio equipment, I'd just get a 2nd Q if you're happy with the first and just want it louder. After selling your first q you'd still be paying about the same for 2 ssds as you would for just another Q.

Mike, are you looking for more upper end bass or low end bass? What car is this in, how is your box configured etc... (port up sub up, port back sub up etc...)

How much more out put are you looking for? Are we talking db's or to the ear.

well i feel the low end is there. but it sounds a little muddy mostly because my rear deck light is hitting glass and i getting a few vibrations etc... but i feel the low end is there. however i think the high end frequencies could be better and more pronounced. It may just need to be sealed to get the punchy and tightness of a sealed box to get what im aiming at.

The box is 2.5 cu ft. @ 30 hz witht he port aiming to the rear of my car away from the cabin. The sub and port on on the front baffle. Not top mounted.

Sounds like you need to improve your midbass response first...

Buy another Q and put them in a 4 Cu.Ft. ported box tuned to 34HZ and you should have enough room for a couple of amps.

Aside from the sub suggestion (I recommend the second Q as well) I would agree with JimJ and the notion that you might need to beef up your midbass. This is where a good portion of the hit and attack comes from in a sub and its amazing how much of a perceived difference they make in the "sub" section as well.

Thanks,

Scott
