Battery terminal issues

Recommended Posts

I'm sorry, maybe I'm missing something, can you please spell out for me what the problem is?

Are you trying to upgrade the battery, the terminal, or both? Or just trying to run some wire to the terminal?

Thanks.

My bad, guess when i posted the photos i deleted the rest of the post.

I'll be doing the big3 upgrade and then taking my runs of 1/0 back to my 2 kinetik 2400. So ill have 2 runs of 8g and 2 1/0 to each terminal. I am having troubles locating a terminal connector that will accomodate this on a normal battery post. Im gonna hit up the local auto store to see if i can find a battery with 5/16 posts or possibly both top and side posts that will fit my confined area..but its not looking good. Sorry if this is hard to understand, but i cant describe it.

Do you have exact measurements? maybe can get an idea on the batt. My yellow top has both top/side posts, don't know if that'll fit yours though. There are terminals you can get at advance or any car store that will add a bolt to a post (just tightens on the top post and adds a bolt). This will allow you to add on a great number of wires- with normal crimp on connectors you should be able to fit everything. I have a tsunami connector that fits 2 8 guage, 1 4 and one 1/0 that has been great to me. I just ground the 1/0 down a little at the end to fit in the 4 guage hole-never had any problems. Hope this gives you some ideas.

a kinetik hc 600 is an extremely small battery you could place there to give yourself some more room (two of them will fit in my stock battery location), and then use some of those top post terminal connectors that have the 1/0, 4awg, and 2 8 awg outlets on them so you can upgrade the big three and your system's wiring while still maintaining the stock 8 awg wires in place.
