i just put in my sundown 1500D and it turns on, but nothing comes out of it volts or anything

Sub preouts aren't turned off on the head unit?

nope checked those too they were on

and i dont have any xovers on my HU, and i havnt even played with them on my amp, what do i need to have those set to?

What comes out of your amplifier is not DC

I'd set the low pass filter to somewhere around 70-100Hz, the exact frequency will vary based on your install and listening tastes, but I try to fiddle with it until I can't hear where the sub is coming from.

That's another reason why you aren't getting much output

Subsonic...if you have a ported box, generally 5Hz below tuning is a good place. If your enclosure is tuned below 35Hz or so, you probably won't need it turned on at all. If you have a sealed enclosure, you definitely don't need it on.

Phase is one of those things that you can fiddle with, there's no absolute right answer. Try it for a while one way, reverse it and see if it sounds better/worse.
