15" SSD Enclosure

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Since I will be recieving my 15" SSD + flatwind pretty soon, I figured I would make an enclosure this weekend. It is 35x15.5x21, 3.5 Cuft tuned to 33hz. It was a 2 day, 5 total hour job, but not bad for a 16 year old making my first ported box.

And now the pics:

Day 1

Various angles of box all put together, screwed, and cauked.

Mods, if you want to put this thread under the SSD enclosure recomendations, it would be fine, and hopefully stop people from posting so many "what enclosure to build" threads.

Yea sure no problem, but if you gave me your e-mail it may help ;).

Also what do you want the outer dimmensions to be? And do you know if you want it to be loud, (tuned high), or lower, deep, to rattle stuff (tuned low).

Let me know, and I will definately help you out.

woops, the email is [email protected].

I got some plans on subwoofertools.com with the box being 3.5 @ 33hz, the only problem is I didnt think I could have the sub up and port out like you have yours. The demensions of your box are fine for my car, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and tuned at or around 33hz would be great.

Thanks for your help.

Yea, the outer dimmensions on the sub are 15.75 or something like that, and there is at least 16.5 on every side, so you should be fine. My hole is right up against the port, about 1/8 of an inch off of it, so make sure you leave yourself enough room when you make the sub cut out. Here are the plans, I also sent them to your e-mail.

Happy Building!

Thanks for the help. I'll post pics when I start the build.

As long as its not touching the port it is fine.

If you have the space, why not use it. I was limited, I wanted to keep it under the windowline (15), and not too wide, so I could fit my hockey goalie bag in the back still.
