Winnipeg DIY Gathering

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Just thought I'd post here to let those in Winnipeg know that there will be a DIY audio group hosting on September 9 at the University of Winnipeg from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. Location is 2M71 (Manitoba Hall).

It will be hosted by Gio M. and your's truly. Home, car, HT, etc will be the topics of discussion including displays of projects from every aspect of DIY audio you can imagine.

Swing by and say hifi if you can; stay for a dognut and drink too...

Best regards,

Mark

It made my calendar, but I am not sure I can make the drive yet.

Not this time... but maybe in the future. I might be coming to Winterpeg for a 4 month acting term at the ACC.

If only you had it this weekend; I will be in Winnipeg Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Hi Mark,

I will bring down my Gainclone, Tube Amp and Fostex FE127E bipole speakers.

Hopefully there will be a good turn out.

Cheers,

Gio.

Thanks. I have to give most of the build credit to Mark. It turned out rather well.

It sounded very good with the 20" sub at Mark's place. Since that time, the full-range drivers have broken in more and I can cross them over at 80Hz.

Next I will be building (with help from Mark) a matching 10" subwoofer with Part Express plate amp. The sub will be a MAW-10. I don't know much about subs, but it is heavy, has a nice cast frame and the surround looks to be well connected.

I will post the design for comments and pictures when it is done.

I would be very interested, because I have been itching to start a low budget HT tower project.
