Break in period for the SI D2 15"

Recommended Posts

i searched and i saw posts that say 1/2 volume for 30 min ppl say 2 days 1 1/2 hour each day 15 out of 35 volume. no break in (that is BS i think). witch is best?

i have a hifonics running 1000@1Ohm. i was going to do volume 15 out of 35 on my alpine w200 for 2 hours listing to randome stuff. maybe even let the car run and watch some tv for a few hours.

should i listen to very bass intence music at low volume? like visionsofthefuture.mp3, ResponseTest.mp3, SubBassEffects.mp3, BassCheck.mp3, ect. all from http://realmofexcursion.com/

Break in is a myth.

Just play at a low volume to make sure the subwoofer is in good order and listen for any bad sounds (scratching, popping, etc). Once it passes that test, play away.

You can't hurt it now anymore than you can in XX hours of your "break in" it is exactly the same to the woofer. The spider may loosen up in a bit though. As long as it has no mechanical problems set your gains and wang away.

a little add on... you have to play the sub to loosen the spider, and I'm not talking about none of this playing lightly stuff either.

x2..

plug and play baby! if you want, play at moderate to high levels the first few hours..but basicly play it as you would after "break in", which i'm sure isn't full tilt all the time.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

We broke in our DD's before we put them in the 'Rex

But that was to loosen the suspension and we used a wall socket.
