installed my 2 15'' d2s today!

Recommended Posts

I installed them today in the back of the rsx in a sealed box. They are running off a jble 1200.1. So far I havent been pushing them too hard because i want to break them in properly. They are running off the stock head unit spliced into my rear speaker. They wont get very loud but when they do they shake your whole body. They are very accurate and have great response to the fast bass lines. I'll be getting a real head unit next week and be ready to push these to their limits. Sorry for the crappy pic, it was taken at night with a camera phone.

What is with you people with your dual subs, 15's no less! I can barely handle one 12!

I'm with the others...you guys are nuts with dual 15's. One 12 is more than enough for me! :)

But please post more pics and what you think about them when you are able to push them harder.

well i pushed them a bit harder today. I looked at the amp and all the settings were turned all the way down. so i turned them up and pushed the subs a bit more. They are almost as loud as the 4 12'' mtxs i had in my old blazer. the mtxs had 2000 watts though.

They aren't as punchy as i was expecting but thats because i have them spliced into onyl one speaker because i have a factory head unit. My box has a few leaks that i will patch with some fiber glass resin as soon as i can. there is a small leak where i drilled the hole for the sub a bit too big. Ill fix this by getting some speaker rings (anyone know where i can get some online besides select products?)

So far I can give them everything the jbl 1200.1 has, about 1400 watts, and they do not clip at all. I will keep you all updated as i progress on the project. My first competition is april the 18th, I will hopefully get metered before then and let you all know.

Just ask Steve about the Magnum's reaching their physical limits. :D I showed him what they really look like when they honestly bottom out. His comment was, I believe, "holy $hit!"

yeah that was it holy $hit. that was the coolest thing i have ever seen in my life. 2 15's isnt enough for me. my hearing is and was already deviginized from drumline. so i want to maybe get some more fifteen inch, or maybe eighteen inch SI in my trunk. wuahahaha. then again maybe not. that would be alot of sub in a acura integra two door hatch. wuhoo.

BTW:welcome to the dual 15' magnum club. you own 2 of 20 of the best subs in the world.

how are you guys putting so much power into one sub when these 15's are rated at 650 watts rms?

1000w + 20hz tone + Mag D2 = :o:slayer:

I have NEVER....EVER....seen a woofer move even CLOSE to as far as it did when I dropped a 20hz tone (under tuning) on it....I'd say I got all 2.4 inches...talk about MOVING AIR...MY GOD!!!

UNBE*******LIEVABLE!!!!

d2's are dual 2 ohm subs. so u need to wire to a 1 ohm load for the 1k watts out of ur amp. yes that is plenty of power. im not sure if they ran out of 15's already i wouldnt be suprised. Hell i just want my 12" !

would this 15 (d2) be louder than two twelves (400 rms 800 max) each (pioneer 305dvc) with 500 rms to each?

i know what you instantly think wheni say pioneer, but it was pretty fudgein loud, at least to my ears. the 305dvc's i belive are the top of the line right before the premiers.

(the d2 15" being powered by 1000watts rms at 1 ohm)

im 99 percent sure that the d2 will be louder, any idea as to HOW louder?

o ya I AM A be using a sealed box
