audiobahn 3 way component set

Recommended Posts

Ok first off if you haven't heard them, don't flame please. I'm just wondering if I should get these, cause I'm going to buy these door panels that originally had a set of these in them (abc6003q I think)...and as all of you know, I'm going for loud so please don't flame like in all my other threads! IF(notice the if) I run these, ill get 2 sets, 2 6.5s and 1 4" in each door, and 1 4" in each kick, along with 1 set of tweets, and the other set of tweets will go in the dash.

If I don't run these, should I just run 4 sets of 6.5" components? If so, what are some good brands/models that will get ungodly loud? Not looking to spend a ton, as I'm not going for sq as you all know. Let me know what I should do and please, no flamming. Thanks, VJ.

I looked into audiobahn components when i didnt know any better.

There were o.k, but i wouldnt reccomend them.

If you ran some horns and ported mids you could get it louder and actually sound good.

I currently have two sets of Orion p6.2s in my doors of my car, they are stupid stupid loud and the gains are near zero

BUT!!!! with 2 sets of tweets it has been a bear to EQ and image, I am going to pull the second set. So I do not reccomend for crisp SQ to run two sets of components right next to each other. If you like the sound of the Audiobahns, that is all that matters. Run some clean power to them and you should be fine.

don't get the bahns, ime, they suck. didn't get loud and didn't sound good.

memphis pr componets is where it's at for you. get loud, sound good and if bought from a dealer, great warranty and cost very little.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

I like the horns idea, I just don't want to spend that much money, would it come out costing more than the components?

Denim, my friend has 2 pairs of p6.2s, and they just don't get as loud as a would have thought. They are ran off an 8004.

Thanks for the help so far guys.

How are they set up? Active or passive? keep in mind my car is somewhat smaller than my truck

a good (read DECENT) pair of horns can be had for say $150 if you look. A good pair of 8's for midbass should run you less than $150.

an un EQ's horn will probably sound better than thoes audiobahns too ;)

then later you can get a nice 21 band EQ or something and get your truck sounding good AND loud.

If you want loud as I stated in your previous post, definetely get the horns even with just your hu eq they will be louder and should be tamed enough to sound as good if not way better.

Denim, the are in a volvo. 1 pair of mids in the front doors, stock location, with the tweets firing up on top of the dash, and the other set firing up on the rear deck, both mids and tweets. What is passive and active? Lol...

CBFryman, I would do that, but I don't know how to build crossovers, where could I get crossovers? And what is a good pair of 8s to run for midbass? I kind of like this idea better. Let me know...

Im sure someone with a little more horn knowledge will step in and tell you what are good/bad compression drivers and what a good lense for in car is.

Sell the 8445 and get a 8454 or 8455 then you have no crossover problems and more eq! There are other options too.

Guys idk what I wanna do...horns, or multiple components...I really can't decide. If I run horns, I don't want crappy sounding horns...

Even with minimal deck eq, I think they will sound better than those Abahns. As for decks, an 880 might be enough of a bandaid to tame the response as well. Obviously would prefer more eq, but eh that I can say about everything.
