I've started looking at amps for my SPl set up so I know how much I need to save.

I really dont want to spend more than $500 but i know that is kinda hard. Im looking for something that can drive my Ava at 4ohm well or 1ohm with the gains down and do some good SPL runs at 1ohm with my Custom Woofage DP. I was looking at the 20.1 but that is alot of money. Kicker, Orion, they all cost lots of money for lots of power. I know power cost money but does anyone know where i can get the hook up?

Ive yet to talk to my GF's uncle about a kicker amp. assumeing i could get one what would be a good amp to suit my needs.

Maybe look into a last year model KX1200 or Orion 1200D.

I don't know the pricing yet, but I saw what the Sundown Audio 1500 watt amp did with a sealed brahma. :phatyo:

for around $500 you should be able to pick up either an orion 2500d or a kicker kx 2500.1 used. pm hccafan and see if he has any left.

also, you can buy my ma audio hk4000d for about $50 under that shipped.

JBL 1200.1's are one ohm stable, though I don't think he was referring to the amp you linked to :)

Pretty sure he was referring to the JBL BP1200.1, discotinued about two years ago. 1300'ish watts, mono, at 1 and 2 ohms.

i was, but that amp looks nice as well, just dont think i would spend that much for a 1200 watt amp when i could get somethen better.

The older ones should be alot cheaper than 450$...Maybe around 2xx$

Hifonics 2006XD would be under $400 and do around 1800-2000 watts... Probably going to be best u can do budget wise. Or maybe flakko will cut ya a deal on a 2006 US Amps MD2...

im tired of hifonics...doing some reading and some reading and some listening and a swap of an amp the BX1205D, though a great amp for the money, is introduceing odd oredered harmonics. Only noticable at higher volumes (no where near clipping though) it would get a little "dirty". I want a new amp that can drive my Ava with no problem and give me lots of CLEAN power around 2kw. i emphasize clean because the cleaner the signal the more power you can throw at a driver. i expect thermal RMS to be around 1-1.2kw.

If your sponsors cant/wont cover what you need you could always PM someone you know, who doesnt mind hookin up his e-friends, and that you trust .....who can get damn near anything at over just cost. :puzzled:

Soundstream PCA2000D or Kicker ZX1500.1 would probably be one of your best bets...Kicker is rated @ 1500.1 but I think it benches in that 1700-1800 area.

im going to be seriously looking after next paycheck or two. As of current i have ~1300 in my account. i ALWAYS keep a $500 cushin and $500 for my dedictable/incase something breaks. I also like to keep half of my next insurance paymnet in at all times ($250). I also need gas money for cross country season while im not working ($200). my most recent paycheck was ~$450, once i get my balence over 2300 i will feel comfertable making a $400-$500 purchase.

Also, since my parents are selling out old boat (the one i wakeboard behind) i have my mind set on buying myself a boat through payments using my parents as a bank. So i will need to start stashing cash for that.
