I want some thoughts on something. I want you to imagine you were in the market for this item and try to think about how much you would be willing to pay. I don't have these in quantity. I only have this one that I made for myself at the moment. None the less I am just looking to guage interest from people who may be into this genre/style. Especially parrotheads like myself :)

This can be made in 2 sizes. Right now all I have made is this 58" 5 bulb version. I can make 39" 3 light version for smaller areas that just need accent lighting. I am not going to answer questions on costs of materials at this time. The only thing I will say is that the longboards are pricey and cost 3X as much as the 39" ones. Designs are random, but always involve palms, sunsets, beach and dolphins obviously.

The board itself is madeof wood that is an inch thick. it is airbrushed and laquered. The light kit I add is 5 and 3 light halogen kits. They use 10 watt G4 base halogen bulbs in each can. I can supply them with 2 ways of poering them. 1 is a light plate to tap into a light box in the ceiling. 2nd way is to send it with a switch and plug kit to plug into a wall.

Without further delay, this is what I want any and all feedback on. It's a bar/area/billiard hanging surfboard light.

First off, those are cool as all getout.

Second, run that power cord through the chain hanger.

Third, cool as hell.

Ya that was a Going to either run through existing chains and run it through ceiling by hook or use a seperate chain lamp kit to run it to the box it is currently connected to.

Thanks for the comments so far. At least I know I am not the only one who finds them pretty trick.

I'll inform people on prices of the boards after the thread runs a little while on other forums. If there is enough interest I will pick them up at a wholesale cost. Retail is a pretty hefty tag.

No, not a real surfbaord lol. Decorative surfboard. 39" isn't even good enough for a 2 year old to surf on. Plus these are made of wood not FG.

They are handmade from wood though. Not some cheap polymer.

Well, right now I have an auction going with a high reserve just to see what Ebay members guage the worth at. When it ends I will disclose the cost of materials for everyone.

The auction isn't showing much promise of this ventruing being promising either.

Tis why I needed to test waters. These boards cost a good penny at retail price. I'm sure wholesale is a different story, but that requires a $1000 order minimum with the supplier.

Did you do the airbrushing yourself?

No. The boards are made and airbrushed by others. My skills don't run that deep. I am just trying to find out if there is a market for these boards and/or lights. Sorry if you thought that. I certainly don't want to take credit for others works of art.
