rl-i displacement ?

how much air does the rl-i 10 displace? i don't mean how much air it can move, but how much volume do the basket and magnet displace...

i believe you can find that on the website....but roughly .09 or so...

0.09 is really small. i guess i won't worry about it.

.15 is what I thought it was, the Rli8 is .12

i read somewhere that you can put the sub in a plastic bag and put it in a bucket full of water, then measure how much water it displaces. this means that the air between the cone and the spider is factored in, right ?

if so, i guess i'll calculate the volume.

Both RL-i drivers displace approximately the same amount of volume.

Use 0.1 cu ft for the RL-i10 and 0.09 cu ft on the RL-i8.

Yes you can do this, but odds are that your plastic is not going to mold perfectly to the driver (there will remain pockets of air), and therefore your result will be a displacement figure that is somewhat larger than it should be.

I wouldbe worried about putting a fine woofer as the RL-i is into a plastic bag and hope it does not leak.
