Ok i shoulda took pics, but hey..

So i have it hooked up @.5 ohms

and well yea this system is alot louder than my PA3000db.

but i have a slight problem, i'm guessing its an electrical issue, but...

I can only turn the system up so far before a big bass note hits and its like the amp goes into protect and then comes right back on, say 2 secs later.

SO is it wiring or electric?

I'm going to hook the battery charger up to my car to check but any ideas?

IT wangs dont get me wrong, but i just cant turn it up louder than a certain point..

which orion?

my 1200d would do this, only when going full tilt with all 3 amps and of course only the 1200d cut out. It was of course low voltage. (other two amps were 8002 and gmx332 pioneer)

the wcc5000/2500-same amp..

ok i got my dmm, i'm gettin 12.6v constant..

This is with the system going at low volume.

It's dark and late so i'll wait till 2ma to find a parkin lot to turn it up in and check..

ANy other ideas would be helpfull as well.

12.6V at low volume? Car running? If not, getting a running measurement. If so, thats really low.

yea i'm hoping thats with the car off, if not i think your problem has been found.

When you test you need to have the car running and bump to the point just before your subs are cutting out (i say just below cause you don't wanna fry the amp cause of low voltage, not sure how well they handle it)

yea thats wt it off..

will test when its brighter, lol

ok so wt the car running i get like 14.8v

It stays at 14v while still bumpin a lil bit, but as i turned it up more it would jump around, from what i could see after it would drop to 11.99v or less the amp would go into protect..

So i take it i need another battery

or if i still want to be in streetmax 1-2 i need a better alt

Running voltage is great... and another battery isn't really going to help if you cannot keep the existing one charged. Time for an alternator. Done the big 3? What battery?

To answer ur questions,

yes big 3

bat is a kinetic HC 2400 :P

but, i just put my battery charger on there, 200amp,

started the car, was gettin 16v or so, turned it up and it still cut off..

But voltage is still dropping very fast when i turn it up, so idk

how low does it drop when it hits hard? if its much below 11-12 you need more current or less amp.

well when reading it it cuts off at 11.xx

or before it even drops right before the note hits, it will cut off.

But its not dropping below 11.

It drops that bad while driving, or idling?

I still don't see which amp... the 2500D?

Not sure while driving,

cant be in the trunk, lol

and no digi meter for that inside

Mine has gotten pretty bad at idle now, but I think it's my battery...(or because I have 5 amps??) I've truly killed that thing over time from competing and killing it dead where i'd have to jump it off and keep it on a charger. (regulator used to stay on all the time... killed batt several times) It's been through a few dead alts, tuff ol batt... But it may be time for a new one.

Another batt wouldn't hurt for daily, don't worry about what class it'll put you in, you can take it out at shows. I used to always use two batteries for daily, it stabilizes things nicely.

1. is this a reading at the amp or at the batt, you loose voltage in the wire.

2. just rev the engine while watching the DMM to see how the voltage reacts to higher rpms.

my guess is that the amp is supposed to shut off at 11volts or close to it and that is your problem.
