Bought a Pioneer receiver today

Recommended Posts

Well, after having way to many options to choose from I finally just went out and bought a receiver for my home audio setup. Pics here!

I like it so far, spent about 30 minutes with it so I haven't done to much. Did the auto EQ (cause it comes with a mic) and it sounds pretty good. It's got T/A, and abunch of stuff that I don't think I"ll use but it's nice to have. BTW those are klipsch hersey's if you are wondering ^_^.

Enjoy.

I don't have any rear speakers yet....so I'm just running 3.0. Yeah I plan on getting a new DVD player and logitech universal remote with my next paycheck.

My dad has some klipsch rears he is wanting to sell to me but I'll have to wait.

oh, I'll have to get some pics of it later, sorry. I love it though, I've been able to mess around with it more and it makes the hersey's sound good. I need some bottom end though, probably need to invest in a sub :P.

it was 280 before tax, after tax it was like 300. I found some reviews of it on some website I think it's ZDnet maybe? Got pretty good reviews and the only thing above it is a model that costs 500 dollars. Didn't feel like spending that much on something I'm not really that big into, just wanted a nice budget receiver that would compliment the herseys :P.

I don't need a ton of power; Sapphires are efficient.

My Pioneer Elite/Sapphire combos will hold me over for a while.

I didn't have a left nut to spend on a receiver and didn't want something used. /shrug this does just fine for what I need it for.

I don't need a ton of power either, my monos are 8wpc :coolugh:

Sean, you are right on that :D Unless you're talking about monoblock Gainclones or something with a passive "line stage".

I'm still in a better position that most people...

I got a nice Pioneer Elite AV receiver, a Denon DVD player, a Pro-ject turnable-n-pre-amp, all matching Sapphire speakers, and an Adire subwoofer...

...combine it with a Sharp LCD TV, Sanus Systems racks-n-stands, and Coaster seating; I've got a great setup.

What model Pro-ject? I was looking into them a little bit, either between that or a Music Hall MMF-5 before going a totally different direction.

Sounds like a nice little setup :)

Denon DVD players have the worst remotes ever.

It's a Debut III...

Since I shop mostly at Tweeter, that's what I got...

...if they sold Music hall, I probably would have ended up with a 2.1 (or similar).

How do you like your denon dvd player and if you don't mind me asking what model is it?

Actually, it's being shipped from another store; a brand new 2910 (on sale).

I was told it was a great player years ago; now, I wanted it.
