refurb. amps........just curious

i was looking around at profile's site and looking thru their refurbished amps. are these amps worth buying? not looking at buying one right now, but i had thought about getting a few two chaneel amps, bridging both, and hooking them up to my sub. thought about getting a third and powering my front speakers. that would be like $100 ish for 3 amps....can't beat that. Are there any other manufacturer's website's that sell refurbs?? anyone had any experience with them?

If they come with a warranty and are cheap then go for it.

Lanzar also sells refurbs form their website also. They also carry a 1 year warranty.

nothing wrong w/ refurbs. they are cheaper than new and also more importantly tested to be working. i've had a few refurbs and had no problems with them. i say go for it.

all of the DEI products that have been refurbed are supposed to be leaving the factory in equal or better than new performance and appearance. imo, if ikesound is screwing up, you should not let it scare you away from refurbs.

that is beside the point. He got it, probably blew it, sent it to me saying it came broke. Laura was as helpfull as a sack of scottish horse chit, then gave HIM a refund...both for the return and purchase. I paid him 70 for the amp, 35 for the return. He got a full 115 refund and $35 from my return check and my $70. I asked him if he could just refund me the $70 and cut the $35... he never did and he wont respond to my PM's.

If he didnt live more than $70 of gas away from me i would go kick his ass.

Either way i got screwed, never agian will i buy refurb or from a wholesaler other than Onlinecarstereos.com.

i have no problems with refurbs. in a sense better than new because refurbs are tested to be in working condition and are much cheaper than brand new amps .

ok, i may have a chance come up here. i think i found a friend to take my MTX subs and he is also looking for an amp. he thought he had one but can't find it now.

so....in the case that he doesnt find his amp, i am thinking of selling my Audiobahn A4002T to him and then turning around and buying two Profile 400SX refurbs which bridging both of them would give me 600 wrms to my sub rather than the 400 that i have now.

should i do that or would i be better to stay with my audiobahn?? also, what would my final ohm load be??? i am a little confused on that. the sub is a dual 2 ohm.

i can also get like a Boss or a Crunch amp for like $100 on Onlinecarstereo.com that will also do 600 watts bridged. definitely keeping the price < $100 on this cuz i am broke as it is.

With a 2 ohm DVC driver, you're looking at either a 1 ohm load if you wired the VC's in parallel, or a 4 ohm load if you wired the VC's in series.

Problem with buying low quality amps is that they may not do the power advertised...so that "600W" might end up being something far less than what you think.

If you're going to go with that kind of budget, Profile and Aura both make a decent product that does very close if not on rated power. I don't think I'd make the same claim for Crunch or Boss unless I had the amp available to bench it

Aura's are beefy inside.

I definetly wouldnt call them budget.
