92 Caprice (SLOW)

Recommended Posts

Well, after relentless debate over the ol hoopty I suppose Im gonna brush the dust off off her, well the leaves, acorns, and pine needles actually.

She's been worked on and stalled and repeat and parked and well down right neglected as it wasnt a daily driver anymore.  Ive pretty much figured hell Im this far and she has never let me down so its time to pamper the bitch and get her back on track.

The ol Hoopty is in route for 2 18s....I got the enclosure mapped out for it already etc.  Im doing a pair of Evils...thats the mission for that even tho gear is a bit out.

Ummmm Im aiming for the Punch Pros in the doors.  I think I can do that hoping I dont have to mod the current baffles but if I gotta start over well whatever.  Thats two tweets, two 8s, and 4 10s and a couple 4 channels to be dertermined.  IDK what Im gonna do for amps in general.

Shes set up for dual Alts 1 stock right now and a EA 250 on the other side...room for about 3 if need be but again gear is totally a later thing.

Theres Shok stuff in there for wire already so Ill roll with that.

She needs TLC and some work but I will get her caught up....logs are the push for me.  So basically some pics to get ya where it currrently is but I did skip over some stuff.

This one just to show I started pretty much right at the beginning. Nothing special just a 305 to 350 swap no gear head stuff.

I have a question-  i have noticed on quite a few setups(walled normally) I see the use of the 2x4's.  I am sure this is due to strangth- but how do you seal it up?

Checklist:

Gut it some more...rid the factory seats for race buckets to open up room for a console build.

Yank carpet cuz its junk and patch stuff on the floor...not as bad as some Caprices in this region.

pull dash or at least all heater  and venting crap....no more winters and A/C is replaced with an alt anyway.

Get wood and keep constructing.
