You should visit a production plant in Asia once, you'd NEVER ask that question again. And regrettably that is what I will be doing in two weeks.

I can name one new company who assembles their drivers here locally that I would never concider buying. Chop shop and a half. Just because its assembled here in the state's does not make them better quality unless you know the builder. If your buying US made speakers stick to the companies you can trust and have great quality track record. Ssa, fi, sundown, ia, dss, aa, ect...

There are a few new companies I've seen that order parts from China but have business building these drivers.

I wouldn't consider Sundown US-made. US-assembled, yes, but the parts are made overseas as well. Agree with all your other choices, though.

Name me one manufacture that does not import a single piece of material for their speaker line.

Fi,ssa,aa are about the closest they come, as they machine their own parts.

Please don't take the defensive, I'm just clarifying. I agree with you about 90 percent, but that domestic machining that SSA performs is a major plus towards the Made in USA stamp and I think it gets overlooked.

Not defensive at all. I agree with you completely.

Perhaps I thought you were talking about the assembly of the driver here in the states vs. In China.

All I was stating in my first post it that just because its put together here does not make it better quality.

Ssa is definitely an industry leader when you think of "made in America"

Amen, brutha. Which is why I'm glad Sean convinced me to finally take the plunge.
