RL-p 15

Recommended Posts

well ive got a 12W7 right now, and im looking for a change.

i just want to be louder, and i can afford to loose some SQ

(current #'s with the W7 are a 144.1 @ 38 hz, and a 144.6 @ 43 hz.)

ive got it narrowed down to a few diff subs im lookin @

a pair of SS RLp 15's being one of them

now...i know rl-ps are not SPL drivers @ all, but i just wanna beat that w7 score by a few numbers.

will this setup get the job done?

also...what are the reccomended box sizes for the 15's?

i know the spec on the website, but i was looking for actualy owner input.

thanks much

a pair of 15's will easily beat the w7's numbers....

as far as enclosure numbers go, like mentioned above, most stay pretty close to the recommended. me, i'd shoot for about 2.75ft^3, about 40in^2 of port, tuned 32hz for each driver.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

dual 15s with plenty of power would be very fun to have

I am always the devil's advocate, but why rlp's if you don't want SQ???? i think other drivers would be better suited if you're just wanting something thats loud. Not saying the RL-P isn't loud, but if you care nothing about SQ go DD or MT or any of the other SPL drivers

RLp's are a step up from W7's as far as quality goes imo. The W7's have a massive surround that adds a lot of distortion. The W7's will play a bit louder than a RLp inch for inch (of course, the 15 rlp will kill the 12w7 for SPL and it will dig a lot deeper). If you want to out do the W7's get teh RLs, it will actaully play louder and best it with ease for qulaity. It also has a high roll surround which allows maxium cone area and maxium travel. Its an ideal surround for SPL + quality.

odd, ive never heard the slighesty bit of distortion from my W7.

also, how the does the large surround "add" alot of distortion?

a pair of RL-p 15 would definately get loud, and have awesome SQ at the same time.
