SSA GCON 10" vs FI SSD for sealed

Recommended Posts

I'm in the market for a 10" sub and only have space for a sealed box (will be fiberglassing to use otherwise wasted space). Been out of the car audio game for a few years and there's a lot more choices these days than I remember.

So here goes, I have an old amp laying around that I'm planning on using and potentially upgrading the amp later on. It puts out 400-500wrms. If I upgrade later it'll probably be to something in the 800-1k range. I don't feel the need to go any higher.

Any suggestions here to go SSA or FI (with the high Qts option for sealed)? Both subs are somewhat in the same price range.

I would lean more towards the ssd with high qts since its more for sealed and I've read many reviews where people were a lot more happy with the gcon ported than sealed.

I don't think you could go wrong with either sub.

That is due to more people running ported and less running sealed.  Not that one is better than the other, technically the Gcon is a little more of a sealed box sub.  ;)

In this case, it is a win win for the OP, be it Gcon sealed or HighQts SSD sealed.

I have a gcon 12 sealed on 500 watts. Absolutely love it. Best sealed 12 I have owned in a long time.

Then I am wrong! Gcon sealed is a great option!
