Help with design for skar-ivx15v1

Recommended Posts

I got a cut sheet from skar audio, and i want to know others opinions on it. Ive tried to draw it up on paper to visualize, and ive done some calculations to help someone who knows how to use the info.

Its for a friend so i don't wanna waste his cash on a shit design.

Ok so he has a 97 Jeep grand cherokee. 90a alternator, I did the big 3 for him in some 4 gauge stinger pro i had laying around, and he had already bought a Rockford amp kit 4 gauge also...pretty nice wire.

Ok the max dims are 36" wide, 36"deep and 30"tall, this leaves plenty space for the port to breath either up our back..The subwoofer is a skar audio ivx15 V1. Its a d2 coil. Here's spec off woofersetc.com I've heard specs may be incorrect with skar audio stuff but i honestly don't know, anyway...

Here's the cut sheet skar provided and info i could come up with, my math may be incorrect but i think its right.

(3.565 Cubes before displacement @ 34 Hz) skar came up with this..

Cut Sheet as below

Bottom :28" x 20"

Top : 28" x 20"

Left : 19.25" x 16"

Right : 18.5" x 16"

Back : 28" x 16"

Front : 23.75" x 16"

Port 1 : 15" x 16"

Port 2 : 8" x 16"

I came up with.

Its outside dims are

28"wide

17.5" tall

20" deep

Ive came up with the port being

3.5" wide through-out its length

16" tall

According to my math, the port center line is28.375 or 28 3/8 long.

So i came up with 6264in or 3.625 cubic feet net chamber volume and 1589in or .92 cubic feet of port volume.

Also just figured the enclosure at 13.24" port per foot.
