Soundstream 1700d? if that means 1700W rms a pair, i'd say slow your roll.

for a daily driver, i use 2 of those subs in a 6cuft ported box and I have to say they are properly rated. I have them connected to an XA1500d. I don't know exactly what the 1500d puts out (some lit says 1500RMS, other lit says 1250 RMS), but i DO NOT have the full brunt of that amp going to those subs. I've put an Oscope on the amp to verify my gain settings and i still had significant unclipped power available in that amp from where i normally run it at daily.

I bet a pair of XA900d would be plenty on the 4 of those. but if you already have the SoundStream amps, then just be careful with the power you actually send to those subs.

BTW, I love them!

THE SOUNDSTREAMS PUT OUT AROUND 1700 RMS AT 14.4VOLTS FOR DAILY STREET DRIVING IM GONNA TURN THEM DOWN ALOT SINCE IN A WALL AND IS WAY TO LOUD TO CRANK UP...IM GOING TO BURP THEM WITH ALL THE AMPS WILL GIVE THEM I HAVE A HOOK UP FOR THE SUBS SO I CAN GET REPLACEMENTS FAIRLY CHEAP...IVE SEEN 2 OF THESE 15'S TAKE A 1000 WATTS RMS EACH FOR BURPS AND TAKE THE POWER WELL.I WAS BURPING MY MEMPHIS M3'S WITH 1200 WATTS RMS EACH AND THEY ARE RATED AT 400 WATTS RMS THEY TOOK THE POWER FINE JUST DIDNT HAVE THE XMAX I WAS LOOKING FOR...IM HOPING THESE WILL GET ME TO BREAK THE 160 MARK IVE BEEN STRUGGLING TO BREAK. I HAVE GOOD FAITH IN POWERBASS IVE SEEN SOME GOOD NUMBERS FROM THEM AND I AM IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY. I WANT TO BUILD A GOOD STRONG SIDE WALL SETUP LIKE YOU SEE MOST OF THE SETUPS IN DBDRAG I JUST NEED TO GET SOME GOOD POINTERS BEFORE I BUILD. THANKS FOR THE ADVISE THOUGH!!

i'm not much of a competitor. but i thought the XS series was the choice of most competitors last i checked on termpro. couldn't find much info on the Evolution series...which IS the Xtreme line's entry level sub.

unforturnately, i'm not on top of the Memphis line-up to know how the M3's stack up to the ES. I thought i've heard that last year's PB Blacks were comparable to a Memphis PR. IMO, the PB Blacks and the ES are not MILES apart...ES15DV2 is only a 500W rms sub--maybe even 450W.

i believe that being loud is not so much the equipment but 90% install i did a 149.7 out of my trunk last year with a bottom of the line alpine type s with a 30 amp fuse :slayer: that was in like four cars and old lol i like the specs better on the es's than the m3's the m3's didnt move as much as id like. i just got my hands on a sweet box building program just specific for my wall i think im going to be busy this weekend..... ill keep you posted on how they do...... if i dont like i might run them till i get enough points then ill be looking for some extremes for finals maybe..... :slayer:

yeah. we've got the XL's in stock and they are much, much better looking in person than in the catalog.

we've seen the 2XL and are eagerly awaiting on their arrival to our store. i'm sure the 3XL is a freakin' beast...but not much need for it right now in our retail store. well, maybe one just to get the high school kids salivating.

Actualy we have had good luck with the DS line ( ES12DS specificly) we are puling 57's out of 4 of them (USACI NEW TL) in a wall in 94 Blazer. Also, we tested the ES12DS's right along side of 4 Atomic AP 12's (with SPL motors) & only lost .1 (this is with 2 Earthquake D1's).

But yes the XS's are the SPL guys sub of choice......up to about 3500W each....then we have run into thermal problems......Best we've gotten so far was 167.7 on the old TL......but we only get about 12burps out of each sub, so tuning is VERY frustrating. BTW that 67 is with 2 Powerbass 3000D's NOT strapped.....at 18V
