New system ideas.

Recommended Posts

Today i blew my sundown sa 15. I though about reconing it. But idk yet. Does anybody have any experiences with the american bass xfl 15s? Or fi audio bl 15s? Thought about getting either of those. But i think ill just buy a recone, cause i love my sundown. But today i also ordered the knukonceptz 0 guage power and ground wire. I got the 100 amp fuze. Good choice?

I had a Sa-15 then bought a BL 15, the BL hit the lows with authority and had way more motor force than the Sa15. The only downside with the BL is it required alot of port area, I had mine in a 4.4 cubes net with 89in2 of port.

The bl is more expensive and on a different level. You can't compare it to an sa.

I think its $300 without any added cooling features. Plus shipping

What amp are you using?

I think a Fi 15 ssd would be a good choice depending on the amp your using.

Figure out why you blew your sub before buying a new one.

This.  Unless you fix whatever the issue was that caused the SA15 to blow, you're just going to continue killing drivers no matter what you buy.

Thanks. And ill tell you exactly why i blew it. Im running crappy wiring. Im clipping pretty bad. I was using that 1200 watt amp kit from walmart. It is junk! Thts why i ordered the knukonceptz 0 guage amp kit. Hopefully this will solve my problem. I also have a shuriken battery im going to hook up also and im using a hifonics brutus 1200. I will be upgrading my amp also

Only reason wiring could of been the problem if it had alo of resistance in it and voltage was droping low causing clipping. What was your voltage drop?

Your wiring did not blow your sub.

Yep wiring won't cause it.

You exceeded the thermal limits of the sub by giving it to much power. Thats would be my guess.

I am currently running an FI BL 15 with a Hifonics BRZ1200.1D at 1 ohm. The box I made got all messed up when it didnt fit in my trunk but it is 3.5^3 tuned at 37 hz. The BL still slams like no other sub I have ever heard before. Due to the tuning of the box I dont know how the lows sound under 35 hz but I am in no way dissapointed in my purchase of the BL at all. And I know that in the right box the BL is an unbeleivable subwoofer.

I would also take a look at a ssa icon. They are great daily driver subs that can get loud.
