Could be several reasons.

Newer gm vehicles have accessory wires that are not hot while running. (The trans overdrive wire is one)

Some newer vehicles have their lights automaticity cone on with accessory on but when running they go off.

Obviously something is losing power.

Grab a digital multi-meter, and check the voltage on the remote turn on at the amp when the car is running.

Is the power wire wired directly to the battery, with a fuse?

You're going to have to check everything--don't take his word for it. :P

It still needs a turn on. Unless the preamp has voltage sensing. (Which is the stupidest thing ever invented bc the damn sub will warble every time you slam your doors)

Sorta flawed statement considering he's needing your assistance, don't you think?

I was really meaning to just recheck everything so you know the issue isn't in something you've crossed off the list but haven't checked, nothing personal about his abilities or trust.

It's probably just as you were told. Hot goes cold while engine is running. I would check wiring and consider using a factory integrated CANBUS. If you give me the year, make, model, and sound system type I can usually find you the PAC part.

Edit: Also try not to be an ass when you're looking for help. No wonder everyone gets jaded and annoyed. I've found Quentin's information in other threads to be EXTREMELY helpful, so he's not really the bridge I'd choose to burn.

It's harmless banter and it's over with, oh well. So what's the specs on the car? Did you want to know what canbus works?

CANbus refers to the entire vehicle netork, not an individual piece of equipment.

Screw the IBEW.  They got a ton of my money and let an employer screw me with no legal precedence and would not even fight for me.  Too much political BS.
