Powershifting is when you shift a manual transmission w/o taking your foot outa the fuel. 

Granny shifting is shifting a tranny the normal slow way

Never heard of speed shifting

Granny gear = uber low gearing.

Holy crap you got double clutching right :P

If anyone needs to know why it would be used in performance driving, watch the chase scene in Bullitt, McQueen 2x shifts a lot near the end.

Speed shifting is shifting without using the clutch, often times you'll still have the petal mashed so it's very similar to power shifting.

Frenched = ressesed, lights, plates, etc...

speed shifting is hard a phuck in all but 4th and 5th gears...dont know how nascar guys do it.

doubleclutching is used to keep traction steady in heavy breaking when entering a corner in syncronised rannies while performance driving. a sudden engine brake could cause a skid, hello outside wall, or oversteer, hello world going round in circles.

though you dont have to double clutch, you can just rev match with the clutch in.

power shifting helps tons with turbo cars... especialyl thoes w/o BOV's :woot:

oh yeah, BOV = tweeter = blow off valve

When you take the CDL test, you are supposed to double clutch, in reality, no one does. 

My understanding of double clutching is (never had to use it since I've never takin the CDL test, don't plan on it either, but I can still drive a semi...) Use the clutch to put the transmission in neutral, match the revs needed to downshift and use the clutch again to put into gear again.  Used on unsychronized transmissions, you don't even need to do it if your know what your doing. 

in illinois, you have to double clutch to pass the CDL test, and they watch for it! and you have to double clutch whether upshifting or downshifting. you also have to downshift twice before each stop.

double clutching in older trucks is real work, some newer ones, not too bad. but it's a crap ton easier to "slipshift" (matching revs and not using the clutch) then it is to DC.

waterbox= spot to get the tires wet before a burnout at a dragstrip

tree= the starting lights

nomansland= the end of the dragstrip where it's all brakes and prayers. and if your prayers aren't answered...

sandbox= where you go after nomansland

trailered= where you go after losing at the strip

puckertime= that moment before you know something bad or on the edge is about to happen

whiteknuckle= gripping the steering wheel extremely tight, usually associated with puckertime

holeshot= leaving the starting line first, usually by quite a bit

hole= starting line

Hot boxing= smoking the reefer in the car, usually filled with smoke

Really thought hotboxing was when you bogart and turn it all into cherry, could happen in a car I suppose though.

Hot box is all things smoked andin order to actually hot box the rooms has to be filled with smoke :)

Crown vics all had a 302 in them, some contained the HO (high output) package, which was standard on all mustangs. Contained a diffent Cam, bigger injectors, higher proformence headers, different intake, and some other nick nacks.

BUT PI (Police interceptors) often contained a 5.8L 351w engine, a bigger badder motor than the mustang.

Licoln Town cars

Used up to 92' I believe.

They came either EFI or CFI, lots have undergone a full carb conversion.
