center console with components

I have a 09 Silverado and I'm thinking about getting something like a console custom built so I can mount my iPad in it. I always have my iPad connected to my radio and I think it will look much cleaner mounted.. but anyway I want to have a set of components installed I'm the console also. how do you guys think it would should and will it be a waste of money to do so? these are the component sets that's I'm most interested in

Waste of money and terrible idea.

 

Stereo sound works because you have left and right speakers.  Having speakers in the center of the car, without proper surround sound processing making them dedicated center channel speakers, will absolutely destroy the stereo sound.

I was thinking that but when I asked the guy at the audio shop he said it wouldn't sound bad at all, and a'll i needed was some GOOD components

Never ask for or take any advice from that gentleman again.

 

And yes, there are a lot of SPL type guys who put speakers all over the place, including in the middle of the car, and think it sounds "great".  They are wrong....it sounds terrible, they just don't know enough to know it.

It wouldn't be all you would need would be the dash trim to go back to factory which is a few hundred bucks.

because the iPad dash install I saw looks like it had a lot of modifications going on and I do don't want it to be my primary source of audio and video
