shallow mount subs

Recommended Posts

I convinced myself to go ahead and put a couple subs in my truck. I don't want to have to raise my seat or anything, so I'm going with a enclosure from Fox acoustics designed for my truck. But I still have a couple of questions...

I know I will not be able to get ground shaking bass out of two tens or twelves, so I'm going for a sq setup. as for power I don't have an amp yet but I don't want to go overboard with power.

1. should I go with two vented 10's or two sealed 12's?

2 what's a good shallow mount dub to go with for under $300

I have two 12" Pioneer TS-SW3001 shallow mount subs...and they hit pretty darn hard! I went with the pioneer for the spec plays down to 20HZ and bought from amazon for ~ $110 each.

Don't think just because its a shallow mount that it doesnt hold its weight!

Um, huh? Don't think so.

Doesn't match at all with the comment after the ellipses.  If the ellipses truly lead to your goal worry about the front stage first.

I'm still doing my homework with the front stage trying to decide on what brand I want to go with. but I also want some subs for under the seat. I want to install everything at once... do you think I'm pushing it with trying to go with 12's? or should I stick with 10's and 8's?
