Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Recommended Posts

I have concluded a few things after trying Chrome:

1. It sucks with a lot of tabs open, compared to Opera

2. It's slower than Opera in some aspects

3. I much prefer Opera's control scheme (how ctrl+tab works, how to switch between adjacent tabs, mouse gestures)

4. SSA looks crowded with all the images loaded.

So I'll just stick to quoting people whenever I hear about a picture and keep using Opera. For me Chrome is better only on Facebook and Yahoo Mail

I have shoes on the way. Kind of excited. One of the pair are cordovan wing tips. First for both.

The other are much more normal, and both should be good for everyday wear.

Roommate found the coolest cufflinks. They were coins from the East India Trading company minted in the mid 1700's. How cool is that? It was hard to not buy a pair for myself.

I stopped by 3 made to measure shops. One was Brooks Brothers. I was suprised at what I saw. Most friendly and eager to please clothier I have ever met. Makes an hour apt with you, asks you a bunch of questions to find out what you want from your shirt and walks you through it. Hieme's was a tiny little shop that was cool as all heck, just not sure about the skills. The last stop was an itty bitty place called John's Tayloring. Famous in St Paul. Friendly guy with a thick accent who said he could have me measured in 5 min.

Brooks Brothers was by far the cheepest, especially when buying multiple shirts. All of them claim to have the work done here in the US....

Anyone here buy anything from Brooks Brothers?

I just picked up a shirt, a sport coat and some pants today.  ROFL.  Of course, you will cry when you hear what I paid.

Also thanks stefan for posting the discount. Wasn't on much yesterday. Had a long Veteran's day.

Thanks for your service, brother.

Amen.  Sorry for the late response, just realized I missed the day.

I fucking hate tabs.  Why did anyone ever think they were a good idea.  Someone without a widescreen obviously.

My colleague is flying through manilla on his way home, I go to Japan tomorrow.  Ought to be a turbulent flight, but should be safe.

Sorry

If they make it a year or 2, refinish them and get another year or 2 out of them it will be worth it. I can then save the less comfortable and less durrable but fancier looks for event occasions.

$1,600 is my guess. Or you really went wild and had someone measure you up something wild. Your there too short of a time for a bespoke outfit.....

Did you bump into a tailor from Zegna on retreat and buy the whole hog?

Or maybe it was a knock off shop and you walked out for 100USD and got a happy ending.

Is there a way to switch tabs without a mouse? That might make me like them more.

I use both at home. 4 monitors let me get a little crazy with my windows.

Generally I have 10+ tabs open at a time. I could not imagine having 10 windows open, or one page open at a time.

14 tabs open right now in the main browser window, 3 other browsers open with 1-3 tabs each.

Ha, try less than $300 for all of it.  Actually got a tie too.  Tailors are CHEAP here.

Same here, exactly why I hate tabs.  List of them on the side of my monitor let's me see exactly what I want to get to pronto.  No dicking around.
