I've had briskets take over 24hrs before and it wasnt a heat problem

Mine always char and or blacken before I can get all the good stuff to melt. It is my wife's favorite BBQ so I would like to learn and not have to go to famous Dave's :-)

1030 pm - 4pm equals just about right from what I have read. This is my first brisket. My ribs usually take 7-8 hours. I also have a leaky smoker. I was surprised to see it maintained 215 all night long. Had to add fuel about 6 o'clock this morning.

If I go drive one it would be a Cayanne and honestly, I can't see me wanting anything besides a Turbo. Just going from a v8 to a v6 with a huge drop in towing is a nogo.

OK, back to router talk, I looked at the router Matt posted, and am interested. In fact, I looked at that same router a few months back. We have 4 ASUS laptops in the house, and have been extremely pleased with their service/reliability. I know of Sean's woes with his. So which ASUS was in that you bought, Sean?

 

I don't mind spending $200 for a solid router, as I refuse to reinvest in routers for a long period of time. My current router is a trendnet I bought about 5 years ago, and am happy that it lasted so long. I don't care about e-ports but would like at least 1 USB for a local HDD on the network. We may have 7 devices running on the network at a time, ROKU, Playstation, laptops, phones, tablets, and a Wi-Fi network printer... and I am planning on investing in a smart TV around SB time. Almost all devices will be running within the same large open set of rooms, with occasional trips outside of the living area.

 

Anybody care to opine?

I bought the cheap ass one MK bought. $25 or something.

Problem is towing rating. Will it hold up?

Also when you say 'new' what years like 06+? I MAY go look soon. Just for shit's and giggles. I figure i owe like 22 on the Tundra, so maybe trade it in and pay that money for something else. I only look at the Porsche because its dumb ass fast, and still has better MPG than my Tundra, but does it have 4x4?

Replaced the front bearings on an E39 today. And then started gutting the interior on the Jeep to run wires for the Mmats. Ended up doing some mods to the seat base so I can still adjust the seat and have the amp under the seat. Then I got basically to lifting the carpet enough to have access to where all the wires cross from one side to the other. 

 

I'm pretty beat.

Quentin how do you wrap A-pillars to have the base for fiberglass? Seems like I always end up with extra material on one side and have to make a flap.

The same way a baseball is wrapped. You have to create a false panel on the panel itself.

The NT I got is fanfuckingtastic. It works great out of the box, but if you have a lot of devices you can customize wireless and LAN network. You can give prioritization in a few different ways. Having such a broad band is usefull too and the ability to boost the signal if needed is also amazing.

You sacrifice speed for broad signal strength from the dark night to the AC version. It is also speed that you won't ever notice unless you are at near fiber optic speeds..... And I would bet the lower cost one would work on many devices in a more efficient way. If you don't like the interface you can use WRT or Tomatoe as a control for it. Drops the pretty UI but is more direct.

For me it was a no brained to get the NT not the AC, and it saved me a couple bucks. There are 2 versions of the NT, but they are nearly identical. One is slightly stronger signal, so I have read, but I don't know how much that will matter for you. I got mine based on the fact the walls in my house eat signal like me at Chinese buffet after a heavy back day in the gym. It's $130 on new egg. $50 less than the AC.

Stoker is awesomesauce. Wi-Fi seems to be hit or miss, at least on mine. The NanoQ or DigiQ is the way to go if you want to go the no frills route.

Say you live in Houston. Throw the brisket on the Egg, hop a plane to DFW for shopping or business or whatever, keeping an eye on it via your phone's web browser. Hop a plane back to H-town and enjoy you some ridiculously good steer.
