Where's Sean? I don't know dickeo da about cameras but I have an opportunity to trade for one. Looking for something worth 250-300. Is this a decent camera? http://www.amazon.com/camera-photo/dp/B00125MHVM

That is a slim budget for an SLR. I will also make the blanket statement that Sony SLR is not money well spent. I know others love them. Of course they work. You just have less options long term. It instantly limits your options and ability to get a deal.

For that budget I might reccomend a point and shoot of nice quality from any brand. Any camera can take great pictures. The SLR just helps you, and allows you more freedom and helps you get better shots.

I'm looking to sell my Sony a55 for the right price if you would be interested.

Why are you selling?

He knows he chose poorly.

I actually want the a 57  instead :P

I love the 55, VERY compact.. Takes great pictures and as Sean said the Minolta lenses will fit the A frame which means you can get hundreds of great lenses for absolutely nothing.

Undreds of lenses? Link me that info please.

Not being a dick, I want to see it. That might make me want one for a backup or knock around SLR.

The Secret handshake 35-50MM, Big Beer can, etc are all comparable to lenses these days.. All glass, All metal too.

Stefan, I am looking to obtain a Win7 license. For some reason the one I bought while in school will not install anymore... and I'm not looking to buy again considering that one should still work.

I knew what you were getting at. Not trying to call you out at all. Does the in body stabilizing thingy work with any and all lenses too?

That makes then a really viable beginners DSLR with a great price. As I said, maybe a great value for a knock around DSLR.

I'm thinking about the plastic 50mm just to have a "disposable" walk around priced lens. The 40stm is a bad bitch too but not a 1.8 I don't think...

The a55 has IS built in so IIRC it chooses to use the In body rather than the lens

Yes the 57 is a step above the 55 and 58. They actually had to stop making the 57 and dumb it down to the 58 because it was outselling the a65 series. If you hold the 55, 57, and 58 the 57 and 55 will destroy the 58.

I'll be home tonight and I can look. Problem is half the activation cracks have viruses. If you can wait I can probably find a legit one.

Cool, let me know. I'm still deciding if I should keep XP (Media Center Edition) or not

Looks like "Project Stupid" is a go, time to crush some DD fanboys.

Going to buy 2 $25 10 inch subs and run in the under 800w class. 142+ dB sealed on the dash is the goal.

Today I ventured into the unknown again. I started ring announcing. Apperently, my voice is a little muffled with my accent and the set up we had. For a first time out I didn't do too badly, but I have improvements to make.
