Sean,

I may not be a marriage expert here as mine failed, but I have been thru similar with the ex, and a few other guys artwork have had similar happen. Here's a small List of ideas for ya. Sorry that some will be repeats.

- Weekend away. Not local but one place you haven't been together before. Might help it feel more like when you were dating, and help to de-stress her, as well as make your relationship stronger.

- Flowers. Might help her have a super positive moment in the craziness of her day.

- Weekend at home with no plans. Forget the sleds, forget the projects to sell the house, forget everything but you, her and the kids. I know you're go go go all the time. And that's fucking amazing. But if she doesn't see you stop to spend intentional time with her nd the kids with no agenda, it might help her feel more appreciated.

- Some spa time on a weekend away from the boys. Might help her decompress and forget about the stress of the new position.

The main thing here is with stress you cannot help her solve the problems at work, but simply listen and sympathize. You can make suggestions if asked, but just sympathizing and letting her vent can be fucking HUGE when it comes to relieving stress. As men it's not easy to just listen, but with all that she has going on and you being gone as often as you are, and doing tons of shit while you are home, just listening will do the most good.

J

should I order all the little things for painting online or buy them locally?

Locally.  Why on earth would you buy that stuff online unless buying in bulk?  That's like ordering groceries online.

Nothing aside from seeing them all of the time here. They're pretty cool but spiders FREAK me the hell out.

Any ideas on what a person should pay for a used Tahoe or suburban and how many miles would be o.k.? Looking for 04-06. Been seeing a lot of high mileage used ones for cheap, but miles are 150-160k. I want something big to put a big system in and the ability to take some reliable trips too.

Low miles (100k or so) one should be in the 12 grand range.

12k is not too bad. I was shocked at how much new SUVs cost. When did Tahoes and Burbubans jump up to 50k or more. Crazier, a Ford Escape is over 30? What the hell?

My 1997 expedition was in the mid 40k mark I think. The original write up on the purchase was in the book

I'm assuming vehicle makers raise the price of their vehicles in response to inflation. That way their profit margins stay the same.

That's not the only reason, obviously. You could have easily bought two brand new Corvettes back in '65 for the price of a brand new C6.

Ironically, had you bought two Corvettes back '65, left them untouched in barn, and sold them today, the money you got from the sale would be enough to buy two brand new C6's.

Funny how that works...

Suburbans back in the late 90's cost upwards of 45 grand. Adjusting for inflation, that's roughly equivalent to 60 grand today. So the prices haven't jumped that drastically (if at all), all things being equal.

California (population 37,000,000) has only 58 more bars than Wisconsin (population 5,600,000). Explains a lot, doesn't it?
