I can't speak on the kids part... I don't have any myself but I am super aware of the stress (good or bad it's stress) they can bring. They are resilient though. They will forgive a little bit of you time.

Tell her to get dressed up and go somewhere she doesn't have to think. Restaurant she likes... maybe even a movie (I know I know).

White roses mean forgiveness, maybe for working so much? Roll it into a mothers day thing but the grown up mothers day thing. Not from the kids but from you.

When we have ultra stressful conversations I make us leave the house. It becomes neutral ground then. A place to not be surrounded by undone projects. It's the only way I can have a conversation sometimes.

Not being in my own glorious bed is brutal, but one night in a local hotel can be fucking magic because there isn't shit there to remind you of what you need to do. It takes her mind off what she wants to do. The physical change of location makes for a psychological break too. Then you can drop romantic bombs like "Baby you don't have to work if you can't. Just try your best and if it doesn't work out, fuck them in the goat ass." Just the change of pace might keep her from needing the valium Rx.

Spend more money than you want, drink a bit too much, wake up and have room service or eat at a local diner etc.

My wife knows I invest money for our future, paid off debt to have a home, worked hard so that she can hit school and make more than me, and really put an effort in when she needed emotional support.

However when she is stressed she completely forgets it all and just needs attention. I have come to learn that, like a kid, if I don't give her positive attention she will make me give it to her by acting out. So I just beat her to the punch and kill her with kindness. Even go to Olive Garden without her begging. (Gag) Get her car detailed.

I bet if I made her a mixed cd of music that is all cheesey it would buy me a few days to handle shit. I don't know why but even the least romantic practical women love that shit.

Damn right, i've been on the edge because of the gf, not seeing her except on skype for 3 months, when she's not out and now her phone supposedly crapped up. 2 weeks until i go visit her though.

Nothing do do at work gives me too much time to think. I hate this bad streak

Box wrench didn't do shit. Unless I cut the wire and get the hoop side on there it was worthless.

Got a shitty set of nice craftsman wrenches on sale though. Kinda cool multi head gripper gimic to it.

If I cut the wire on that SOB and it stays stuck, will it be completely undrivable?

 

Not undrivable, but it will run like shit and your mileage will be horrid. Plus you do run the risk of smoking your cat

You have to unplug it, the slide the box end over.

 

Won't fit over the connector.

 

But if he is changing it out he can just cut the wires.
